We want to do our part to ensure that laws are observed for the benefit of all. To this end, we have not only established appropriate guidelines, codes and control mechanisms within the company, but also make sure our policies and the accompanying standards are applied along the entire supply chain.

We consider respect for human rights to be an integral aspect of our corporate responsibility. This expressly applies not only to the working conditions within BLG LOGISTICS — we also make the same demand of the companies in our supply chain. For this reason, we welcome the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, which provides a legal framework to help further strengthen the protection of the most vulnerable in global supply chains.

Our Code of Conduct for our suppliers came into force in the financial year.
Implementation at BLG

To make our stance clear to everyone, we formulated a policy statement on human rights for our company in 2021. This underscores our clear rejection of unethical practices such as child and forced labor and our support for fair wages, social benefits, a limit on working hours, as well as for the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. In an internal process, we first identified the main human rights risks that exist in our industry. We are currently expanding our risk management system to enable us to monitor these risks more effectively and subsequently minimize them through targeted measures.

Our Code of Conduct for Suppliers also came into force in 2021. This obligates those with whom we work not only to fulfill their social responsibility and respect human rights. It also unequivocally sets out our expectations regarding environmental sustainability and ethical business conduct. We consider compliance with the Code to be vital for our business relationships, and in the event of violations we reserve the right to take appropriate legal action depending on their severity.
