We focus on the people behind the job titles. We therefore believe that the development opportunities we offer them should be as individual as the strengths and skills that they bring to their job every day. Hand in hand, we bring out the best in our employees and develop strong young talent.
Our star trainee Melanie Thiet is a case in point. The 21-year-old suffers from generalized anxiety disorder, a psychological illness that can at times severely restrict her in her private and professional life. However, this should not deny her the chance of a professional future. Together with SOS Children’s Village Niederrhein, we were able to fulfill Melanie’s wish to become a warehouse specialist. Within the scope of a cooperative training program, she got to know the operational processes at our Emmerich site. Right from the get-go, her entire team had her back and showed great understanding for her condition and illness-related absences. Throughout her training, Melanie was also closely accompanied and individually supported by her supervisors. The three-way combination of practical experience, vocational training and supplementary remedial classes provided the greatest possible support and more than paid off in the end: Melanie completed her training as one of the best in class and is a great asset to our team in more ways than one.
