Accelerated pace for new goals

In 2023, BLG not only delivered on sustainability, but also once again exceeded our own milestones for climate protection. So we resolved even more ambitious long-term goals. We also added new, measurable sustainability targets.

BLG gets there faster: In 2023 we were able to exceed our goal for saving CO2 emissions. That makes it likely that we will reach our reduction target, originally set for 2030, earlier than planned. This has spurred us on to aim higher and thus contribute to the 1.5-degree target of the Paris Agreement. Instead of the original 30 percent, BLG has now committed to cut directly generated CO₂ emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by some 50 percent by 2030 compared to 2018. We will double the reduction target for indirect CO2 emissions along the value creation chain (Scope 3) from 15 percent to 30 percent.

We want to achieve a similar pace in other sustainability areas, so we have defined a number of new goals that are the responsibility of BLG management staff in future: For example, the accident quota must be reduced by at least ten percent year on year. We want the share of women in leadership positions to reach 30 percent by 2025.

18.4%

less CO2

than in 2018 was generated by BLG within the company in 2023 (Scopes 1 and 2).

Sustainability is not a transient trend, but a requirement for business success. As a logistics service provider, we have a particular responsibility.
