Social commitment is a given for BLG LOGISTICS. In 2023, we again supported local sports clubs, cultural organizations and employees' favorite charity projects.
From soccer league teams to chess events for children – the sponsoring and donation activities of the BLG Group are widely varied, but always rooted in the local community. For example, in Bremerhaven we sponsor the Eisbären Bremerhaven basketball team and the Fischtown Pinguins ice hockey team. In Bremen we are firm fans and supporters of SV Werder Bremen soccer team and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. We subsidize projects such as the Filmfest Bremen, the Musikfest Bremen and the Christopher Street Day parade. We are there when Bremen’s children play chess on the marketplace, and every year we invite all fourth-graders in Bremerhaven to the Klimahaus (Climate House) to encourage their interest in sustainability, an issue very important to us.
At BLG LOGISTICS, we have a special soft spot for the “personal favorite” projects of our employees. We have been supporting projects nominated by the team since 2023. They include a drama group that includes people with and without disabilities, a holiday camp for socially disadvantaged youngsters and an animal sanctuary in Bremen.
Eisbären Bremerhaven
BLG has been supporting the Eisbären Bremerhaven basketball players for 18 years. In 2023, the contract as the team’s main sponsor was extended, this time with a special focus on sustainable development of young talents.
Fischtown Pinguins
The cooperation between BLG and the ice hockey club Fischtown Pinguins is new. We started supporting the extremely successful first-league team from Bremerhaven in 2023.
Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen
Independent, excellent, unique – the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen orchestra is something very special. Not only because every member is also a shareholder. BLG is a loyal sponsor of the project.
SV Werder Bremen
An institution in German soccer for 125 years: BLG is a proud sponsor of the German first-league team SV Werder Bremen.
CSD Bremen
Support based on conviction: At the Christopher Street Day Bremen, BLG backs the rights and social acceptance of sexual minorities.
Schachfest Bremen
In 2023, 1,000 children took part in an open-air chess tournament on the market square in Bremen. This is the annual highlight of the school project “Chess makes smart”, co-financed by BLG.
