Implementation at BLG

As in many other industries, logistics has also been experiencing a skills shortage for some time now. That’s why we are constantly on the lookout for people who want to get things moving with us. We are guided in this by our “character comes before skills” ethos. If you are a good fit with us, we are happy to invest in you. Therefore we regularly offer people with diverse backgrounds and in different life situations – even if they have no prior qualifications – the possibility to take their first steps toward a vocational future in logistics with us. For example at our Schlüchtern location. Here, we carried out an integration project in 2020 that opens up new prospects for the long-term unemployed, refugees and young people with no training qualifications. The success speaks for itself: After two months of theory classes and a four-week practical phase, of the original 17 participants 14 found a permanent job with us.

Logistics Employee at the Schlüchtern Location

Andre, you took part in the integration program in 2020 and are now on board as a member of our logistics staff. How was it and how do you like it here?

Working for BLG LOGISTICS was a great chance for me to get my foot back in the door after looking for a job for quite some time. The Job Center drew my attention to the program and it immediately sparked my interest – in fact, to start with everything went very quickly. Then things got postponed because of the coronavirus and I was a little worried that the places would all have been taken in the meantime. But, fortunately, that wasn’t the case, and in June I was able to start the theoretical part. Above all, this time really helped me to get back into a steady routine. I really like it here and I’m glad I took this step – the team is friendly, everyone says hello and everyone knows you.
