Implementation at BLG
Our employees are crucial to our success. Therefore we offer them secure and attractive jobs with fair wages and practiced codetermination.
In our society, it is unfortunately still far too rare for people with disabilities to be integrated into the everyday working environment on an equal footing. BLG LOGISTICS provides real opportunities for people who are unable to pursue a regular course of training to nevertheless enter the job market. We offer those for whom classic vocational training is not an option the possibility to participate in a variety of integration projects that open up alternative routes into the working world through orientation and qualification internships. Ready to help the “newbies” find their feet at the Falkensee site is our colleague Ronny Wiegand, who originally trained as a warehouse logistics specialist and now works with apprentices as an operational trainer with a particular focus on the integration of colleagues with disabilities.
One colleague to benefit from his support had been unable to continue in his original job after a serious work accident at his former employer. The vocational rehabilitation center (Berufsförderwerk) gave him the opportunity to retrain as an industrial clerk, which involved a six-month practical phase at BLG. During this period, our employees devoted a lot of time to supporting their colleague with his training and made additional learning time windows available. He will soon sit the exam and can then work for us on a permanent basis.
In another case, the company spontaneously responded to the needs of a new truck driver with severely impaired hearing by providing induction training in sign language through an interpreter. The valued colleague manages his day-to-day work routines without problems and is very well integrated into the team.
The wide-reaching integration program and the cooperation with educational institutions or pension insurance funds, along with the support of our committed colleagues, are a complete success. Not only do employees with disabilities benefit from individual support, but we as a company also gain valuable members for our team.
